The fuel caps are an integral part of the fuel system in your vehicle. You might think that the fuel cap’s only job is to cover the fuel filler neck, but it does more than that. The fuel cap prevents the evaporation of flammable vapors as you drive or park the vehicle. A broken, loose, or faulty fuel cap might cause a check engine light in the console since the lack of pressure in the tank will cause issues with the evaporative emissions system.
